Olive oil is considered the only staple food derived from a fruit. For over five thousand years is obtained from the pressing of olives by separating the oil from the vegetation.
The name of this product is "virgin olive oil" because must be obtained from olives (olive fruit) solely by mechanical means under conditions that do not cause disturbances.
